Highs:
-motivation is still peaking going into week 2!
-even MORE support from friends (followed Ate Queenie's advice on telling EVERYBODY)
-worked out with family at Drake stadium, and felt a sense of belonging and empowerment
-selected a personalized diet after much trial and error: going with protein.
-enjoyed the first end of compliments from friends and co-workers
-added "circuit" training to routine; a bit tougher than HIIT but will manage to fit it in
-added small time weight training to routine, targeted to burn fat more than gain muscle
-added protein to diet to increase metabolism, increase fat loss and heal muscles after workout
-managed to average about 5 meals a day with success, no binge
-cancelled out plans for early morning workouts after feeling the muscles rest after a good workout, deciding to allow body to rest for those morning hours in exchange for one consolidated workout (will revisit this in a week)
Lows:
-severe shin splints on Wednesday during HIIT training; stretched it out and rested - but they came back when playing basketball on Thursday. Seeking cause and solution, so far came up with: 1.) not stretching enough, 2.) not drinking enough water or 3.) body is not used to intense and rigid schedule. As of now thinking this could be number 3, since this was an issue last week towards the end of the week but still trying to focus on more stretching, more water.
-gave my body little to no time to recover and rest at the beginning of the week. slept at 4AM on friday for PCN practice/final run-thru, and then volunteered my house for the after-party the next day, did not sleep until 6AM that day; felt the body call for rest, but didn't give it enough
-broke my headphones. this is the biggest issue at the moment!
See! Telling everybody works!! And it REALLY helps to have that extra support. It's tough not having you guys up here so I'm thankful to have my friends. Tomorrow we're going rock climbing! Wish me luck. Lol
